this is the anthem, throw all your hands up

It's a little late, but here is my year in review.

In 2012, I:
-moved to a new city, started a new job and made new friends.
-said goodbye to old friends, my job of three years and a place I lived for seven.
-actually, we moved twice -- first from the camper to a duplex in Natchitoches and then to Alexandria.
-joined Team RWB and started running and working out more than ever. I flip tires now!
-fasted only once.
-ran one half-marathon and got the time I wanted (2:15:20.5). Meant to run more.
-watched a lot of movies at home and a few in theatres.
-did not see On the Road.
-did not write much outside of work.
-listened to a lot of '90s music.
-spent more time with my husband.
-welcomed another nephew and a girlfriend to the family (two different brothers here).
-got Rufus.
-had a lot of fun.

In 2013, I:
-will fast more, pray more and grow closer to God. (That's a perpetual goal.) Started the year with one. So far so good.
-found out I may have an ulcer due to stomach acid. I'm on medicine while they run tests and send me to a specialist. I'll keep you posted.
-will learn how to cook and actually do it more.
-will get better at video games.
-am trying to find a balance between love of material possessions and wanting to get use out of the possessions I have. In other words, spending a lot of time on stuff and then worrying if that's a good thing. That's me -- the overthinker.
-will run 1,000 miles throughout the year, doing the first 100 in January. I'm currently at almost 21, so I've got a ways to go. That ulcer put a kink in things, but God made my body so I know he's got it figured out.
-will make time to write on my book. I will make it a priority.
-will not drink Dr. Peppers. Much.
-hope to get pregnant.
-will get out of debt just in time to get back in with a loan to buy a house.
-will run "3 in 3" with LB -- three half-marathons in three weekends in a row starting Jan. 27. She's doing four.
-will re-read the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon series) and the last three of the Harry Potter books.
-will learn all the words to Bare Naked Ladies' "One Week." Yeah, I wasn't kidding.
-will love more and help others.
-will live to bring God glory and have fun doing it.

  1. Make chicken marsala. I made it last night and it was delightful.

Also, from the previous post, shouldn't you say "Nerd Alert!!" BEFORE you say the nerdy thing, just in case some of us want to skip the nerdy bits because we're way too cool for all of that nonsense??
